Curricular Vision:
- Higher order thinking skills: analysis, evaluation, and creation are necessary in all levels of education and life;
- The fundamental key to Project or Product Based Learning lies in the opportunity for addressing multiple learning styles, and differentiation;
- Meaningful, lasting skill development erupt from relevant, rigorous, and relationship based educational experiences;
- Learning which is active, not passive, activates the brain's ability to store long-term memory, rather than short-term memory; and
- Technology like any other textbook, intervention program, or curriculum package is not in itself the solution to increasing student achievement. The solution instead comes from supporting and empowering teachers in how to best combine the elements of all of these things to deliver rich content for their unique set of students.

About the Academy:
The TRUSD Educational Technology team has envisioned the 21st Century Learning Academy in response to our teachers' most requested area of professional development, the need to close the achievement gap, and desire to produce college-ready, career-prepared graduates. The purpose of the academy is to bring together and empower teachers and students, as well as enrich our district as a whole by fostering partnerships with families, educational leaders, TRUSD community members, and business partners.
